Hello all,
Back in the '30's, apparently, a group of sailors on Mobjack Bay decided to start a racing club. To that purpose, they purchased a fleet of six Herreshoff S-class boats. A friend of mine saved the last of these from the burn pile back in the '70's. Being a boatbuilder, he restored the boat and sailed it until the mid-90's. For the last fifteen years, she has been sitting, covered, in his yard. He would be happy to have someone adopt this boat, if the prospective owner would take care of her. She can be moved on a J-24 trailer, and according to the owner, is 85% ready to sail, still tight and in good condition.
If you are interested, please be sure you understand that this is an original Herreshoff S-class, and the obligation you would be undertaking. The boat is sitting in Mathews, VA.
