what, nobody else has acomment? I was just about to go test sail her for a week in the finnish archipelago before getting my fingers modified,
guess I got to do something to get me out of the house and away from handy projects

Wish I could make the trip with you. She goes along beautiful with only the reefed main. Sorry about the hand, it will keep reminding you how fast it happens with sharp tools, but they are the ones that work.

I really enjoyed the video, Mike. Thanks. Now I see how you could part with the Coquina. :)

minutes after shooting we shook out the reef, then she was quicker, she weighs nothing, like 300 pounds, she was designed to sail in no wind and that she does, too bad we never got the jib on her while filming.

well coquina was a bit thicker skinned, i havent sailed riviera enough to say she is as tough, I sailed coquina in just about every weather and she could take a beating and hold togeter.
time will tell how riviera is.
cant wait to sail her again.....maybe in a month when im 10 fingers.
cant even mow the lawn, no strength to pull the cord in the right.

I know the feeling with sliced fingertips. Throbbing and unrelenting. (Mow the lawn!?! Ouch!)

The boat looks very nice. Quite a boatshop facility!

no, thats no boatshop-thats just the winterstorage next to the boatshop, just luv those overhead 5 ton cranes, great for looking up the centerboard slots or changing the oil on the car!

the boatshop has 3 cranes

Great work on the boat.

And a trip from Nice to Amsterdam, via the rivers of Europe... Now, that was a pretty great idea.

I think you need to submit a paper. If it's accepted, there's your invite. :)

"Invitation to Authors

The Herreshoff Marine Museum and the New England Section of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers invite interested parties worldwide to present a paper on a subject relative to excellence in classic yacht restoration, replication, or use."
