    Let me introduce myself

Hello all, my name is Carl and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I have been reading the posts here for the last 4 months or so trying to get a feeling of the people here. I have been part of other forums and the people on these other sites had clicks that if would drive new comers way very fast, this forum looks like one that welcomes new members at face value.
I have enjoyed boating for several years and have learned may things in life because of boating.
A woman that I see now and then and who owns a small sailboat that we take out on the bay every now and then she is the captain (her boat) and I am the crew and if I do not do what she asks I get thrown overboard. She knows that I can swim as we also scuba dive together. Now when we were on my sailboat I was the captain and she was the crew if she did not like what she was told to do I was thrown overboard.
I have flown light planes and have also jumped from them, NO they are NOT prefectly good planes and the pilots of those death traps are CRAZY!!!! For those that have never tried skydiving I can tell you that you either love it or hate it, no in-between and if you love it then it is the most exciting thing in the world.
I have a degree in horticulture and enjoy doing landscape designs.
I returned to school and have taken a few classes in viniculture, wine making, and have worked in a couple of wineries in my area. I have learned how to make some very good wines from one of the best.
I am at this time without a boat and looking at building one, a 28' runabout and/or a Dragon.
Looking forward to being a part of this forum.

      Hey, Carl.

I believe we already know one another?

A wooden Dragon just came up for sale in California. If you are interested e-mail me at home and I will give you the contact information.

Glad to see you logged on here.

Welcome Carl! Others have written anything else I could write.
And yes, the forum can be ( and usually is ) a good place to obtain info on just about anything with emphasis on boats ( wooden ones of course).

Just having a little fun in the morning, Jami.

Just wait 'til Carl finds out about the cliques we got around here.

I mean, what if he turns out be a Bolger fan? Or a CPES using Atheist? Or God Forbid! what if he has an iPhone?

iPhones is lapsed catholics and terminal optimists but I thought atheists usually avoided CPES on religious grounds...
I'd much rather lay in my bunk all freakin day lookin at Youtube videos .

Pretty much describes that particular clique.

Terminal optimists? I thought the idea of the iPhone was that it needs no terminal.

Any way, welcome aboard even if you don't use CPES. Clearly you're an adrenaline junkie which fits you well for the Bilge. We'll see if you can also rise to the orlap and beyond.

My sister and BinL live a bit north of you there in the Russian River wine country. Very interesting agriculture that has all ends of the business - from the very worst of petro-chemical intensive corporate agri-exploitation to actual family farms, some of whom go organic. If nothing else, your expertise in fermented beverages will make you popular at any raft-up.
