Two years after finishing the boat, and 3 months after completing the rig, I'm finally posting photos! I apologize for not posting photos of her underway, as all of you deserve no less. But rather than wait until who-knows-when for that to happen, I'll share what I have now.
Many thanks to WoodenBoat for hosting this forum, through which I found the MacGregor design. Thanks to Iain Oughtred for designing a sweet boat that I fell in love with. Thanks to Todd Bradshaw for the sails and general knowledge freely given, and thanks to Grandpaw Norm for encouragement and inspiration, as well as the directions for posting these photos!
And, of course, thanks to all you forumites who help keep me addicted. I hope to return the favor in the future with new builds.

I bet she sails along with just a puff of wind That she does Peter...and she needs a reef fairly early unless you want to hike out. I don't. This winter I'll rig up a "jiffy reefing" system so I can safely sail on a frigid lake without a full wetsuit! Waldo lake, at 5414 feet, is a cold alpine lake. Its pretty big too. If I went over in the middle of the lake when there was no nearby help, well, I might make it and I might not. Its really cold. This last week I doused sail just before a pretty big gust overtook the lake. I'd rather reef and keep sailing smile.gif

Very Nice.
Any idea of the total weight ?

She's about 75 pounds for the bare hull and deck if I remember correctly. I can cartop her myself pretty easily. Maybe 110 pounds all rigged and accessorized.

Beautiful boat Tom. Your intentions of winter sailing reminded me of a kayacker/photographer for National Geographic who died winter paddling in Lake Isabella, a lake in the Sierra Nevada's about 7,000 feet above sea level. I, myself almost died there wearing a 5.5 mm suit without a hood. Anyway, the man had plenty of experience and ability, and he's still gone. Be carefull! and may you enjoy that fine craft you built in good health for many years to come!

I have no intentions of high lakes sailing this winter  I meant I'll rig up the reefing system this winter.

Only one word comes to mind...schweet! So that's how many molds it takes to make a hull that fine. Woof!!!
Many years of sailing pleasure to you and her. Does she have a name?
