In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
Assalamualeikum Wa Rahmatulahi Wa Barakatu,
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Five long years ago this month, Jihad Unspun came into being and through Allah’s guidance and protection, we have been able to expose the lies of Bush’s so-called “War on Terror” that we all know now is a war against Islam. An organize plan, the American agenda is to consume the Islamic lands, pilfer our considerable resources and (further) oppress the Muslims by watering down our religion to a version that keeps us timid while the whole sordid affair is carried out.
If anyone would have told me five years ago that I would be sitting here writing this today, indeed I would not have believed them. As most of you know, JUS came into being as a simple thought; I wanted to help the Muslims, to give them a voice after the events of 911. It was not to be a grand venture nor was my conversion to Islam part of the plan. But we plan and Allah plans, and Allah surely is the Best of Planners.
Publishing JUS for half a decade has not been without its challenges but Alhamdulilah, through Allah’s mercy, we have reached this important milestone. From the very beginning, our site came under fire from the enemies of Islam; from the left and from the right, from the believers and the unbelievers, from those bought into the theory of the "war on terror" and from the blame of the blamers. Over the years we have rarely made any of this public specifically because the Muslim mindset has been so eroded from decades of oppression that even the slightest challenges make the Ummah lose heart. While Allah has promised us victory, the reality is that many Muslims see this victory as some distance promise, not something that Allah, the All Mighty, is working in our lives continuously.
In the first two years of publishing JUS, we moved our servers several times, were forced to actually sell them off and host our site on other ISPs who also shut us down from time to time until Allah finally allowed us how to make the case that content is outside the scope of those who deliver access to the Internet. Early on, there were also attacks from the Jewish vigilantes posing as relatives of those who lost their loved ones in the events of 911 that ultimately forced the closure of my corporate businesses, the very means that funded the JUS effort. And of course there were the CIA accusations by the enemies of Islam in an effort to scare Muslims from supporting us. Believe me, the list of challenges JUS has faced and overcome by the grace of Allah goes on and on.
