Anybody seen any decent House Boat plans suitable for an armchair sailor to ponder?

Glen L has a bunch of power designs, from small to palatial.
A book that's worth a look, though it's mostly about floating homes on permanent moorings, Handmade Houseboats , Russell Conder.
Sailing scow houseboats by Reuel Parker, and George Buehler, are stuff of Huck Finn dreams. smile.gif

House boat or floating house?
Berk Eastman's Aqua Casa 16-20' series are one choice. He also has plans for a very cool floating cottage 20-24'. Berkeley Engineering Company, 1640A Reche Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028

There are a couple of new houseboat plans at http://www.Bateau.com.
Chuck Merrell offers plans for several floating houses: http://www.boatdesign.com
Glen-L has a number of plans to choose from.

Bolger's Champlain is not exactly a houseboat, but it sure is a fine design. I saw one on the Rideau system a few weeks ago, and talked to the owner/builder. She swans along under a 9.9 hp outboard, leaving almost no wake. She draws all of 18 inches, and attracts a steady stream of admirers.
The one for sale at the broker below is much less pretty than the Champlain I saw, but gives the basic idea:

Sam Devlin has one weekend-type houseboat plan called the Millie Hill. I think he still has some photos of its construction on his website. www.devlinboat.com (http://www.devlinboat.com)

I'd reply, but I'm not supposed to do "self promotion" on this forum.

But I can, I'm not so constrained.
Mark has a very interesting cruising houseboat he's designed, a sharpie that he has traveled and lived aboard extensively. I don't have the website to hand, but for a powerboat his is well worthy of a good look.
It was reviewed in WB a year or so ago, and I'll bet a google will turn it up.
P.S. I think self-promotion limits could be relaxed a little if you wanted to post your web-site Mark. It would save a search. It really is an interesting boat.

Southbound again, I had a wonderfull time cruising the Chesapeke Bay, I would have liked to have spent another few months up there.
