A friend called yesterday at 8:00 AM and asked if we wanted out go on a 50' sloop to watch the start of a tall ship race form Portsmount,NH to Halifax, NS. :)
Of course sez me. :)
Be at the dock at 9:30 sez he.:eek:
These ships were in Portsmonth for the weekend.

We spent about 4 hours cruising among them, very few other boats were out.

I think inspiration like that qualifies as a perfectly good reason to take a day off from boat work stuff. :)

Donald - I don't know what program the slide show is in, but it came right up for me. Whatever it is, I must already have it on the computer.
It's worth figuring out.

Sorry Donald that you couldn't see the slide show. :eek: It's an Flash file. What OS are you using? And do you have ActiveX on it? I'm trying to make my webpages as universally accessible as possible.:o

Thanks for sharing, Ken. It's opportunities like the above that make deposits in your Karma Bank.
Reminds me of sailing off Newport in '76 watching vessels like this make land fall after the race from Bermuda.

Good stuff. How lucky we are today. :D Merely 50years ago who would of thought their would be such an interest in sailing ships like that these days.
