Am I wrong in thinking $7 a bf isn't real cheap?

I thought it wasn't bulk priced myself. And, I'd want to know the source.

Ya if it that much it's about what I pay for KD VG Fir by the board foot in small amounts. Which is S4S.
And it could be some of that Mt. St. Helen's stuff Bob Smalser has talked about.

If this stock were in Forks, which really is on the Olympic Peninsula, I'm suspect it would be fine, as I know who mills there. But it's in the city of Olympia many miles from where old-growth logs can still be had. No telling where this came from unless the buyer provides contacts to call.

And 7 bucks a BF is what you pay for 50bf, not 1500. Last I was involved in buying any was in 2003 (when log prices were more than they are now), it came from BC...16,000BF of No 1 Select DF @ $27,000.00 and change.....that's around $1.68 a BF.
So if you need large quantities, shop around.

Retail price (before quantity discounts) here in central Canada for boat-quality DF already freighted in from BC is $7.50 CDN per BF in 8/4. For 1500 bf, I'd expect to get at least 15% off that.

IIRC I think he tried to float that through CraigsList a while back.
Apparently nobody there felt like the price was right there either.

I am 25 miles south of Annapolis.....I can call richmond, Va. and have 100-200 bf delivered here on their regular runs for about $5 a board foot...good vertical grain boatbuilding stuff......we have two local users manufacturing high end sportsfishermen in the strip plank, cold moulding method close by.....You buy it in Annapolis and the price is 25% + higher....any good wood in Annapolis is higher.....
