I'm thinking of financing a refurbishing program on my boat using this program. Anyone used it? http://www.4seatow.com/additional_programs/default.asp

Take out a home equity loan and write off the interest.

I come out better with the included SeaTow membership and yacht documentation than with the writeoff. I guess I'm asking if anyone has had dealings with SeaTow in general.

From the SeaTow site:
"U. S. Coast Guard documentation is also free to Sea Tow members who finance with Sea Loans (a $500 value)."
From the NVDC site:
Applications:
Initial Certificate of Documentation (COD)
$133.00
Exchange of Certificate of Documentation (COD)
$84.00
Return of Vessel to Documentation
$84.00
Replacement of Lost or Mutilated COD
$50.00
Approval of Exchange of COD requiring Mortgagee consent
$24.00
Assuming a good clear title it's very easy to do the paperwork yourself for a recreational vessel.
