Foreign relations committee conducts oversight hearing on Iraq, Surge, misc. Three experts invited. Batiste, Cordsman, Kagan.

Google up the first two,,the last fellow hails from the American Enterprise Institute with voluminous declarations about military tactics and strategy. Basically Kagan says Stay the Course, We haven't Seen Enough, It'll get Really Bad If we Leave. Oh,,and Al Qaeda is in Iraq. You know, 9/11, Iraqi, Al Qaeda, 9/11 Iraq, Al Qaeda.

The fact AEI "experts" are still invited to these hearings after the "oops, no wmd" fiasco is evidence the thirst for Koolaid continues. AEI provided other experts like Chalabi and Khidir Hamza.
Party on.

It was one of those strange Washington moments where the military expert with real experience as a combatant commander in the battlespace at issue was being told he was wrong by an Inside-the-Beltway expert who likely never fired a weapon at anyone in anger.

Chickenhawks rule, dude.

I think the American people think we should listen to our military commanders in the field how to run the war instead of a bunch of Washington politicians.

Since when does it matter to bushCo what the people think?
Or want?
Or need?
