Nice footage in that, but a crew of 35 on a 100' boat? Bloody hell! Hope that is not the normal complement.

I recall counting more than 30 on the J class when it was here in 2000. ( can't remember which one it was though.. Endeavour? Velsheda?)

Well 30 on a J is, I guess, believeable. But I would think that the systems on Leopard would be somewhat more state-of-the-art than was on the J. Powered winches, canting keel etc. I suspect that some of the 35 may have been not absolutely necessary ....

A Folkboat won on handicap, didnt get a mention though in that report.

John - Cambria would have been there in 2000 at a guess (she was in Sydney for the Olympics) - she is a 23 metre class and used to race against the Js - and is a full member of the J Association

nah, she wasn't here.I know Cambria (95% certain anyway).
It was a blue one.
I know I know. It was Velsheda. Yup.
and then Shamrock(4 or5?) turned up later ,and never went sailing.

Nice video - There was a report on Leopard in the Sunday Times - complete with a double page spread cutaway drawing - showing the keel canted the wrong way.
