We saw it near Tonga. You don't want to get it in your raw water inlet either. Clogs the filter.

WILD. That is certainly not one of the possibilities that occurred to me when I looked at the picture. Sure lucky they weren't in a slightly different location...

It's not unusual to see that around the Pacific rim.....although that's a helluva lot bigger than what I've seen...I hope that they recorded the location and filed property rights.......:D

I wonder if the sides of that yacht got sandpapered as they sailed through it. Even lightweight floating pumice/ash has got to be coarse.

Lake Guntersville gets millfoil during the summer. Sometimes it is so thick it looks like land from a distance. I got stuck in it once and had to back the boat down to get out. But it didn't clean the bottom off. I then had to go swimming to pull the millfoil off the prop.
