I had some old bronze hardware chrome plated. Do I have to now find chrome plated bronze screws to use with these pieces? I was hoping that maybe the chrome plating would act as a barrier between differing metals, thereby allowing me to use SS screws.

Marine grade stainless (like 316L) consists of about 18% chrome (plus roughly 12% nickel, some molybdenum, some silicon, etc. etc.). The chrome plating on your hardware also very likely consists of primarily chrome and nickel. For the purposes of your application, I don't think you have to worry about corrosion.
