If so, comments?i have no experience with the duck trap fastening kits, but i do have a few of his books (highly recommended), and i built the 16' wherry a coupla years ago (very good plans). i got alot of questions answered qucidly via email from walt simmons, so i've got a very favorable impression of duck trap woodworks. if i didn't have a local source for all the fastenings, i wouldn't hesitate to order from duck trap.

Walt put these together because he knows that the average one off builder would have to buy small numbers of a lot of different size fastenings, which is a lot more expensive than buying in bulk, like he does. He prices them at "bulk" prices, and you get exactly what you need for any given boat. I wish other designers did the same. I think this also suggests that Walt has thought through the building process for his plans. The truth is, he has built them all enough times to know exactly what you need. Rick

My kit from Walter came with roves that fall right over the rivits, not even tight. That didn't seem right. I went out and repaced them. Good Luck

Glen-L does. I've built two of their boats and the bronze fastening kits seemed worth the money
