I found this design on a Dutch website and I thought it was a really different looking design for a comfortable liveaboard barge in steel.
Opinions?

That's really nice. I've thought for many years that it would be nice to retire to a real houseboat - shame that it's so difficult to do here in the U.S. No yard to take care of, little boat on the back deck....dang.
I know that Suasalito (Calif) has a nice community, but I can't think of anyplace similar on the East Coast....

Check out Selway-Fisher, they have a few barges along those lines.

I was reading about barges a while back, and found this site: http://www.waterstudio.nl/en/architecture.html. A neighbor of mine does alot of marine repair work, and he said if I want a floating home, then concrete is the way to go.
