I plan to use garboard drain plugs to capture the centerplate pivot pin on my Caledonia Yawl. Bronze bushings will bear the load. The drain-plug flanges are not load-bearing. (A steel centerplate will be employed.)
I am thinking of using 3M 5200 bedding compound or epoxy to set the bushings; I consider these permanent fittings. I'm not sure what to use for bedding the drain-plug flanges. 3M 4200 bedding compound for possible removal/replacement?
Please advise on bedding compounds or adhesives for both the bushings and the flanges.
Also, how should drainplug flanges be bedded when used for actual garboard drain plugs?
