I am getting ready to build my fourth boat, an Ocean Pointer skiff. Has anyone here built one which I can take a look at? Thanks in advance.

I think this is one at the Rockland Apprenticeshop. IIRC they keep it for working with their sailing program.

If you are intending to build the David Stimpson design, there is a good example in Maine built by John Blatchford. John lives in Orrington, and moors 'Old Tides' in Castine when he doesn't have her at the Woodenboat School in Brooklin where he teaches sailing classes. I imagine that you could get in touch with him through them. I am sure that he would be happy to show you his baby.

I have one that I will finish planking this week. I would be happy to send you building pictures up to this stage.
The picture posted by rbgarr is not an Ocean Pointer . An Ocean Pointer has sawn plywood bulkheads, not bent ribs. The picture may be a West Pointer, which the Ocean Pointer was based on.
Let me know if you want more information.

George is right. The boat picture is a West Point boat based on Alton Wallace's model, at 18' a bit shorter than the Ocean Pointer.

It's more like this guy's boats: http://www.westpointskiff.com/

Hey Cundys, welcome. I spent a good part of my formative years up in that neck of the woods -- grandparents owned property on the North end of Sheep Island where I spent most summers from 0-15. Used to get my summer mail from the post mistress, Christine, in Cundys Harbor and penny candy (when it still was a penny) from Sid Watson and faintly remember Howard Goddard from Dingley Isl.

Family now has a spot on the hard in Phippsburg behind Mercury Ledge, one place south of the A-frame.

That's a little slice of paradise, is upper Casco Bay.
