Does anyone know the best place to get white 6-7mil plastic, 42'x50'?
Took some good damage this last storm. The structure held up well to the 65+mph winds that we got though, a lot to be said for this design.

Thanks in advance, Chris

Try http://www.griffins.com/

They have several outlets. They are also a pleasure to deal with, vey knowledgeable and expeerienced.

Greenhouse supply vendors have UV resistant 6mil plastic (clear, 5-year guarentee); boatyards have 6mil white shrinkwrap, which you don't have to apply heat.

I use both, the white on top during most of the year as it's very durable. I pull it back in the spring refit season for light.

I got one year out of that "five year" greenhouse plastic.

Shrinkwrap is the thing. Great light, great fit. I have more than 2 years on this cover and it's just dandy.

Do you guys shrink your shrink wrap, or just use it unshrunk?

I have purchased shrink wrap from http://www.shrink-wrap-film.com/. They ship the material to you if you can't pick it up in NJ.

I also purchased some tarp material from http://www.farmtek.com/farm/supplies/home

I plan to recover my bow roof shed with the tarp, as I had very poor results trying to shrink the shrinkwrap with a Dr. Shrink Heat Tool. Even so, the shrink wrap lasted 3 years...and it probably would last a lot longer if I didn't burn it so thin with the impossible to control heat tool.

I only bothered to "shrink" it over the ends to make a nice snug fit, just tickling it a bit with an ordinary propane blowtorch. Don't try to get it sleek-and-sexy, just establish a bit of tension in the right places.

Oh, and a few heat-welded hems to make "drawstring closure" at the ends.

I got mine from Defender.

Thanks guys. I ended up ordering a 40'x100' roll of reinforced 6 mil poly ($268). I pick it up tomorrow and I hope it is what I am looking for as it is site unseen.
