Now (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio4_aod.shtml?radio4/nowshow) listen to Marcus Brigstock (from 9:43).

Funny just isn't the word.

I heard it whilst driving (is that the term) on the M25. Almost had to pull over. And to think I used not to find him funny!

"Driving?" - hmm - sometimes.

It really is a show in the best rtadition of Brit Satire - not TW3 - but on a par with "Week Ending"

geeman - you are from Tennessee?

It's an old joke that British satire seldom makes it over the Atlantic, and it never makes it past the Rockies.

So I guess that gives you about a 30% chance of laughing, here!:)

ACB,
I'm from VA but choose to live in Tenn.My wife and I love the rough Mtn areas. We like the idea of being more self relient then what is the norm on the Va coast where we met and raised our family.
Living here forces you to depend on yourself more,I like that concept.Since being here I have learned that I can do many things I wouldnt have attempted in my home state.
As for the humor, your probably right there. But it always seems to me that British humor is about 15 years behind us in innovation.I could be wrong , thats just My perception, and I mean no offense.

Ummmm.... couldn't find it.... probably stupidity on my part.

At one time our local NPR station would have "classic" BBC shows on and once they actually played one which had to be the world's longest shaggy-dog joke, ending in "Honey snorts but Molly pants"... simply AWFUL pun and still the funniest thing I've heard since the Goon Show.
