Please clock off and leave your card in the outbox.

Thought so.
The card system is too open to rorting.
I saw a crime show once where the killer got his buddy to clock him in when he wasn't there for an alibi.

I worked in a GE factory years ago where two guys actually cheated the clock for many years. When they were found out they were given the choice of being fired or going to jail. The only reason to give them a choice is that they could not prove how long they'd been doing it.
Their scheme worked because all the clocks were old and tired and didn't make a clear stamp on the card. All that could be seen was a blue stamp if you were on time or a red stamp if you were late. Since both guys worked in the quality control labs and were supposed to be making rounds of the production lines it meant that people always thought they were there but on a different line. What they did was to come in at between two to three hours late each day Monday thru Thursday. On Friday, one would come in on time and slide the mechanism back to Monday and punch in for each day of the week. They took turns doing this. Like I said it took the company years to find out what they were doing mainly because they were trusted.
Where I work now we have no time clock and low and behold all the workers are there on time ready for work. We are actually treated like adults by management and therefore mainly respond in kind.

For most of my life I have been salaried - In earlier than most; out earlier than most.
I forgot to punch in here. I guess I will need to talk to management and fill out a lot of paperwork. I should have looked for the clock when I came in.
