According to my room mate, Chancie gets real whiney and clingy when I have to be away. Thing is, when I'm home, he prefers to be by her. He does come and check on me every little while though.

The appearance of a suitcase will turn our 3 stately porch hounds into neurotic lapdogs.
There was a show on TV a while back where they would send a dogs owner out shopping. They would put up a camera in the house and at random times call the owner and tell them to go home. It was amazing how often the pets would go to the door shortly before the owner arrived home, even though it was at random times and there was no way the dog could have known.
fascinating stuff...

i read somewhere a dogs nose has a lower detection limit in the 2 ~ 4 molecules range and they can hear much further into the ultrasound range than humans , so maybe not so much a dogs 'feelings' give them information as perhaps they have sensory input we can't even begin to interpret

Glen....
Actually, looking at boxes and trying to reorganize my life.. I am beyond scared... I am bloody petrified.
I mean I read on another post that I have to buy another toy to hook up WiFi to a printer. I would have never quessed...
I turn around and bam....
So, yup.. 700 hours but they are gonna be long hours...
now back to C dog.. She is always with me... Always. She has never been left alone for more than an hour.. So what is with this..? If I left her for a weekend.. or a week.. I'd understand but she seems to acquired a real bee in her bonnet.

Webster turns into a mope as soon as he sees a suitcase or duffle bag by the front door. It's as if the last 40 times I went away I left him with a dog beater and never returned.... I happen to know that he gets spoiled rotten by not only the critter sitter, but also the neighbors while I'm away...

I heard that in those tsunamis last year they found no animals dead from it. Apparently they all headed for the hills before it hit. They are looking for ways to read animals in order to predict earthquakes and such.

my guess would be the plate tectonics emitted some very low frequency sounds , animals perhaps were tuned in
probably, but the question is how do they know what it means...

are angry with each other. They can tell if one or both of us is going away for awhile. They get totally freaked by a visit to the vet. I think that it comes from being adopted dogs. Once you are abandoned as a puppy it has to have some sort of lasting affect, wouldn't you think?

Rosita (AKA the stinking Rose) knows exit 18 on the NYT by th number of bumps on her heiny. Rain or shine dark or bright, as soon as we pass 18... Its whine whine whine, all the way to 20 and down to the river where she gets out and runs right down into it mud and all.
