Someone buy it. I have a mate with a Nereia.
They are THE cruising boat. There is no better.
Joe, where are you?

HOLY SH!T.
at our current rates, that is
Aus $8,428.96.
That is nothing. Even a indebted pauper like me could afford that.
I have the mooring waiting (just have to get rid of the current little 30 ft'r floating on it) and hey presto I would have a liveaboard.
Sometimes I get sick with envy at the boat market and oportunities you guys have over there.
If I was over there,(so long as it is legit and sound) then I would shake heaven and earth to get that boat.
Beautifull!

Ah Shane,
misery loves company eh?
I am glad this gets your guts churning like mine are...:( :D
but I do hope the problems and stresses in your life disapear really soon.:)
As this boat will be killing me untill it sells with stupid thoughts like,
maybe if I sell my boat, and have a quick flight over and... and... ahhhHHRRGH
I will be following this thread and am watching that item in Ebay...
here is another of those boats for sale, with some more photos of the underwater design and such.
not too sure about the colour or the 'art' on this other one,
but damn,
this design really does it for me.

I had a mate who decided he wanted his own plane, bought it in California, filled it with fuel tanks, filled the tanks with fuel and flew it back. Four x nineteen hour legs.
He did the trip four times.
Point is it must be possible to get a boat back if you want it bad enough.

Rufustr,
I am sure it is possible,
however, for me, not at this point in my life.
I have thought for a while now that when the time comes to buy a boat like this, a live-aboardable world-cruisable, I might try to go over to the US and hang out for a few months with my cash, find something like this and snap it up, do it up just enough there to sail it- Maybe drop past somewhere cheap like south east asia where I can slip it, and pay for some cheap labour to do some of the finer labour heavy details that are yet to be done.
A nice dream, but one for now that is impossible.

I saw that... it looks like a perty boat, and even a Twin Diesel Sportfish guy that I am said to himself... If it's so good, why is it so CHEAP? Whutz wrong wid it?
Just for the fun of it... HOW MUCH HEADROOM is in that cabin??
I mean...COULD I STAND UP IN IT??? 6ft 6 inches and how about my Son 6'9... and what about my brother... 6'10 or maybe 6'11... we really dont know, he's hard to pin down to measure him.

Nereia's are a little shy of 'full' headroom. Less than 6' (except in the companionway) if built to the original plans.

oooh it gets me guts churnin alright Hans :(
The US seems to have TOO MANY fine boats at very reasonable prices  theyve become compaicent ;)
As to head room well if its got
Nereia's are a little shy of 'full' headroom. Less than 6' (except in the companionway) if built to the original plans.
Then at 5ft 6 and a bit Id have a fair bit of bobbing room in there eh?!!
not everyones a flamin giant!! some of us have the ducks desease and are short wheel bases :D
at that price theres bound to be work needed and hes bein about as honest as I think he can be without having a survey and wanting to sell it... ala a "project boat"
aaah sigh to be in better financial shape eh?
That second ones a treat isnt she? but there again 42000US... man... ah well the dream continues!!

Snapped up.
What was it, up for about 24 hours (sorta like me at the moment)?
I do hope it was one of us.
The buyer's profile has a rather large amount of activity.
I hope it is not someone who is just going to try to make a quick buck on it- I really hope it is not someone who is going to strip her down...
Ah well.
you gotta be quick.
At least I can stop thinking about it now.
