Abeking und Rasmussen have built some wonderfull boats. In the late 50's and early 60's, being banned from building seagoing vessels longer than 6 metres, they build a small weekender suitable for coastal waters for crews of two called the Hansa Jolle, 5,85 m overall. http://www.traditionsklasse.de/html/bilder/hansajolle128.jpg
Still being built today, for instance by http://www.hd-yachtbau.de/public/show.php?page_index=35
Now, one of these darlings has caught our eye. Built by A&R of Mahogani on oak, varnished hull (with very few small dark spots). Weighting in at something like 750 kg. Trailerable. Ballast keel combined with a centerboard
Shall we give up our open keelboat and go back to wood? Shall we give in to the temptation? Shall we replace speed with style?
