Nearly 10 years ago, on 29 March 1998, The Detroit News published an op-ed piece by Tony Snow -- the W's mouthpiece and defender-in-chief -- on why claims of executive privilege are wrong. Here's a snippet. It appears that Mr. Snow is a bit of a hypocrite. Or perhaps he believes, a la Stalin's USSR, and George Orwell's Animal Farm, that "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".
Evidently, Mr. Clinton wants to shield virtually any communications that take place within the White House compound on the theory that all such talk contributes in some way, shape or form to the continuing success and harmony of an administration. Taken to its logical extreme, that position would make it impossible for citizens to hold a chief executive accountable for anything. He would have a constitutional right to cover up.The full text of his essay is on the Chicago Tribune's blog, here (http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/news_theswamp/2007/03/snow_swallows_h.html).

Anyone who can't talk out of both sides of their mouth doesn't belong in the Bush administration.

Tony should have been there from the beginning. He could play as MiniMe rapping Rumsfelds unknowns. Scott McClellan just sounded pained by it all.
