Can't tell you anything about the Heather Mary but the day the pix were taken was VERY hot. Rex Fearnehough and I were there too with another forumite with our Mac's. The other two days had strong onshore winds. Plaged by very low and variable water, almost like a small tide. Fewer boats than last year owing to water levels and subsequent mooring problems. Had fun though, and pretty well run despite the difficulties.
The wooden 8's race was attempted in a decent chop but all crews got wet when the boats sank on the course. Better luck next year.
Had a few takers to try the Mack with oars and paddle and they all came back afloat. She's quite a good sea boat really.
A brewery on the wharf this year, very nice drop too! Lots of music, paddlesteamer and steam train excursions, so there was another string to the organisers bow. Didn't suit everyone of course but with the lack of water it turned out to be a good decision.
The local restoration mob, Armfield slip, had a navy cutter and an old restored station supply and excursion boat named the Lotus. I last saw her as a wreck and did not at first connect the georgeous boat on the water with the sagging planks I'd seen a couple of years ago. I'll try to find a pic, somehow I didn't take one!

None here of Lotus, but Rex may have one
That's some tiller on Heather Mary.
Here a few on water photos
As Skuthorp said it was HOT on the Saturday with a NW wind. Cool change arrived on Saturday night with a southerly wind. This, according to the locals, blew all the water up into Lake Alexandrina resulting in the level dropping at the festival site.
This is how low the water level was.

About time that I signed in again, will post more details and a travelogue after I have unpacked. I've only been back 2 weeks after all.

G'day Rex! I was wondering if you'd decided to stay and gone into smoke in western Queensland! Just a bit of rain mate since you've gone, lowest rainfall since records were commenced in 1856 or thereabouts. Really enjoyed your company, when we come over again I'll visit to see your boat (and you). Had a week supposedly sailing but there was very little wind and I rowed most of it. Glad you're home safe
Jeff.
