Well Gil, considering that Newport 30's are GRP boats, and what little most of us folks on this forum know about anything we know about wooden boats, I'm not sure how much useful info you're gonna glean. Good luck.

If ya wanna get it really clean inside get about 10 gallons of styrene monomer and slosh it in the bilge and it will loosen all the old crap......:D

How much Styrene Monomer would you need, only 10 gallons?:D
I could get you a barge or rail car full at a good price.:D
Don't forget a respirator!

I didn't take you seriously. I'm quite familiar with the properties of styrene monomer, and would not suggest it as a general purpose cleaner and certainly not for a frozen snot boat.

Really, what harm could a little ethylene and benzene do?:D

If I'm recalling pics from his summer's sail last year, I think Norm Bernstein owns a big hunk of plastic too....

Ah Yes......I was wondering about the polyestermite problem reported in the water around there this year with the climate changes really pushing the rapid growth of the little ones.....

Right you are... benzene is known to cause fertility problems.

Here in RI, we have "ProtoMites", as well as "FiberMites" , which are very invisible, but do alot of damage to fiberglass hulls. Then there are the "wannabe"'s, which are very destructive. There is no known CURE at this time.
