Ernest Gallo died, just a few days short of his 98th birthday.

I guess cheap wine can get you by.

One of my old flying buddies way back in the 70's was a guy named McIntosh. He was a nephew of the Gallo clan and in line to inherit a few million. He was a wild and crazy guy so it wouldn't surprise me if he preceded the old guys out of here. We sure did enjoy the family brew though.

Here's to Mr. Gallo. Thanks for all the good times, sir.

Foul swill. But I will admit that he, or someone else in his employ, was a marketing genius.

The Gallo brothers made a great contribution to American culture, not to mention the economy.

And the wine, in the medium ranges, isn't that bad. They make what the market buys.
