According to the newsletter of the Nova Scotia Schooner Association (www.nsschooner.ca), you should plan your vacation so you can be in or near Halifax between Friday, July 13th and Saturday, July 21st. The Tall Ships 2007 festival (www.tallshipsnovascotia.ca ) will run from Friday thru Monday; the Schooner Association Race Week is in Halifax from Monday to Saturday; the Cruising Club of America (www.cruisingclub.org) summer cruise fleet will be in the city and surrounding area for the week; and the boats participating in the Marblehead-to-Halifax (www.marbleheadtohalifax.com) ocean race will be in port, having finished the race in Halifax the previous week.

Should be a jumpin' ten days...

Yes, there is. She's currently owned by two women and based out of Hubbard's (just outside of Halifax). Here's a photo of her at last fall's "September Classic" race. How do you know the boat?

Peer's Fancy was designed and owned by Don Peer. A friend of mine owns a Crocker Gull built for his son, and that's the boat that I was sailing on when I took the photograph. Is that Don Peer in the photograph?

Schooners and tall ships are fine, but the real fun is with the small wooden boat association. Swimming optional.

Swimming optional? No way, it's compulsory. Just ask Jane!

I think the Schooner Assoc. in NS should coordinate with the Wooden Boat folks. There is no way I can be at both the Tall Ships etc. in NS and the WBS in Mystic and this is a real bummer.

Howard, you were just teaching her port from starboard, the quick way. :)
