View Full Version : Pike sailing dinghy?

I bought a jib and mainsail for a Pike class dinghy on eBay -- anybody familiar with the boat or class or maker?

Sails are by Tedruth Plastics, Hong Kong. I had to buy both to get the small white dacron jib -- they are very hard to find, and my current one is fine for light air but too large for windy days.

Included were the original rigging detail drawings from TR, including one of the boat.

By the way, I'm not under the impression that the Pike was any sort of wooden boat -- I'm sure it was a little stub of a plastic tub.

Looks like it was 10'-11' long, judging from the sail measurements and the sketch above :

Main Luff: 10ft 6 inches and is attached to the main with a bolt rope.

Main Foot: 7ft 3 inches and is loose footed

Jib Luff: 9 ft 9 inches and has plastic snap on hanks

Jig Foot: 4ft 3 inches
