I don't know anything about guitars, but saw this ad on another website, and thought you might be interested. I don't make it a habit to share ads here, but this one was a rare enough occasion I thought it would be okay...

1991 American made Strat that is in excellent condition with custom parts. I am the original owner and it has been well cared for.

Custom parts include: Locking tuners, graphite nut, Fender Texas Special front pickup, tortoiseshell pick guard and antique colored knobs and pickup covers.

Will include Fender tweed hard case and original parts. $700 + UPS shipping

Is the satin finish I see there a cost cutting feature or is that supposed to be a better feature? I'm out of touch with the modern guitars so I'm asking for the info.

I take it that you mean on the tuners.

In the nineties this was a fashionable upgrade - on better tuners.

A lot of fenders have satin necks and gloss bodies. For some folks the satin finish on the back of the neck feels less "sticky" and faster than gloss does. Just a matter of what feel you like.

Thanks Brian but as you can see, I've already got a nice Strat. {AND Es 335}

I think the next guitar I buy is gonna be a really nice acoustic or a Telecaster.
