I think I miss posted this, so I'll try again. You are all very knowegable, and I hate to bring up a subject that I read has been "beaten to death", but...
I have a 28' dry for ten years Chris-Craft Sedan model, that doesn't have any cotton in the seams. I bought it that way. I am wondering, as a semi-total novice if I should put cotton back in before caulking, or just caulk? I've heard both recommendations.
Also, I was thinking of epoxying it, but have no way of turning it upside down. So, I heard about this Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer product, from http://www.smithandcompany.org/ Has anyone ever heard of this, and can anyone comment?
They tell me that it's a good way to go, if I'm going to keep it semi-wet. They said that it'll still take on water, but in my case, where the boat would be out of the water in the winter, it keeps the wood from shrinking back too much, causing the caulking to come out.
I'm just looking for the best way to go, without a budget to pay someone $15K plus, to epoxy it for me. So, it would be nice to know if I can get someone to comment on this "CPES" before I try it. Thanks for your help in advance.
By the way, Lake Tahoe, CA is where it would be in the summer, and Reno, NV is where it would be in the fall, winter and spring, which is a very dry climate, prone to over drying these boats.
