Just bought a 1960 Dickerson 32 Ketch which needs a rubrail. There is nothing there now. Thinking of wood with brass. Anyone know what is appropriate on these? Any sources or resources? Open to suggestions. Allergic to vinyl on wooden boats.
have you tried Gemlux or Bo'sun? You may want to consider bronze bang iron--looks nice.

My Dickerson had a brass rubrail on the wood. Similiar brass rubrail material is available in various sizes from Jamestown distributers.

Grana has an ss strip on the wooden rubrail and I am of two minds about it. It protects the paint in a very light bump. But we caught a bad current going through a bridge with only 11' horizontal clearance. Grana is 10' beam so there was not room to deploy fenders. Dented the ss in, pulled up a couple of the screws holding it in place, etc etc.
I am now of the opinion that when I rebuild and and replacing that rail anyway, I will finish the outside either with an industrial strength rubber strip or a sacrificial wood strip that is not painted.
Grana is 20t. I think that ss or bronze partround strip is good for lighter boats.

Is that one of the crossplanked bottom 32's?
I worked on one a long time ago... The are pretty boats for a single chine boat!
