I would like to operate a 220 single phase motor on a 3 phase circuit
The voltage across two of the phases is 243 vac and the reading from neutral to leg is approx 125 vac. Wil it work and what would be the impact on the system?
The motor drives a metal band saw and is approx 1 hp [9.5 amps]
Thanks Al

Your only using two legs so thats fine, change the breaker to a double pole. Just tape out one leg of the pull. If you mean you are putting a single phase motor in a three phase machine, then just change the heaters in the motor starter to the proper amperage of the new motor and drop one leg of the starter on the load side.
If the motor is radically different in amp draw a breaker change might be in order also.

There is a section of town here where the residential neighborhoods all have 3 phase, I would get service calls to replace pump motors and with the homeowner being without water,(some of these pumps were quite old and motors were either rebuilt or special order)I used to pull two legs of the 3 phase to run a standard single phase motor along with a seperate equipment/chassis bond. Some were left like that and have been there 12 years or so.
