Nah... this is at a Harrison Lake. Plus, the sculptures are sprayed with an "environmentally friendly" agent to keep them from drying and cracking. I understand they last several months.

Hm! Harrison Lake is near us (mainland B.C.). There is also an international sand castle building championship up island at Parksville in the summer.

IIRC, they bring in 'virgin' sand and is of a type to do this kind of sculpture. They keep wetting as they work, but it is of a type that will 'stick' together best. As said, once done, it is 'coated' to hold it all together. It was really fascinating to watch them work.

Really? That one looks like a tree trunk. The first one fits my visual of your bear.

How do they get them to last?? Plastic pump spray bottle with diluted Elmer's glue. -
