I don't want to alarm you, but it looks to me very much like someone put that hole in your boat on purpose. I'd say the situation bears very close scrutiny. I'd suggest you make sure to spend a maximum amount of time in the boat shed. I'm sure your boss, clients, and sweety will understand when you explain that you are attempting to forestall a potential terrorist attack on an important vessel of the Canadian fleet ;^)
