Sunny. Brilliantly clear. Client on way to BC said that the mountains looked like they had been cut out with an Exacto knife. In the 50s. Going boating on the Skagit Delta tomorrow, to an abandoned gillnetter village.

The snow is supposed to continue throughout the night. I don't mind the snow, it's the 4 degrees that's a bit uncomfortable.
Thanks for the congrats.:)

The last two nights it's been cold. Ten below F. I'll wake in the night and listen to the furnace churning oil into heat. I'll worry a bit, but what can I do if the furnace decides to crap the bed?

Dry. It's the end of January, and my driveway has been scraped out once. This may well change. It is only the end of January.

HOT! and STICKY! No I'm not talking about sex...the nights are so warm and humid the idea of getting close to someone is the last thing on one's mind.
As soon as I can afford it I'm buying some insulation for the shed roof, man does it kick out some heat during the day!

The migratory birds have a good thing going. North in the summer, south in the winter.

This has been a mild winter so far. The coldest I've measured here was twenty below F., a couple winters ago. That's getting pretty cold. The coldest I've ever measured was 28 below, that in the hill country of central MA. You start to measure different things in yourself at those temperatures.

Variable.. yesterday mid forties and rain.. did Chuck say wet? Well rain and wet here. Today.. low 30's wind 20mph.. Not happy...
Temp isn't bad.. It's the daily fluctations that drive me nuts.

Can you say... FLAMIN HOT??? Yep hot enough to cook a 1in steak on a slab of tin in under half an hour IN THE SHADE!!...

so bloody hot the fish an marron in the creek came up to the house for some cool...

so bloody hot the snakes gave up hibernating in the shed and did a tango under the Jarrah trees...

so flamin bloody hot the aircon shat itself the fans blew a gasket and the tar on the roads melted

HOT!! I mean its so hot to step outside the door is to melt... so hot that the ripples of the heat waves makes pipeline look like a gentle ripple...

The idea of close proximity to other heat infested bodies is the last thing on your mind... Sex? WHY??? STREWTH!!! youd be slippin an a slidin all over the damned bed... and thats BEFORE anything happened!!

Its so hot that this arvo when I dared to venture outside to race out and grab a few nectarines and pairs the bloody things just ran out of their skins... broiled in the heat they were

And forget the shed!! I mean thats a bloody furnace in there!! :(

But you know the one good thing about it bein sooooooooo flamin hot? THE BEERS COLD!! :D

Dark. 1°F. Clear. No wind.

Someone (not me) agreed to make a presentation to a group at their shift change, so I got up too, made her oatmeal and got her coffee water boiling. She asks me to remind her to never agree to get up this early again.

As I saw her to her car I noticed Jupiter on the left of Scorpio, and Saturn on the right of Leo. I haven't seen them in a while.

High -16C today, and we should see some sun, so that's nice. Warmest day of the week today, though - Friday and Saturday look like lows below -30 and highs below -20. Good days to stay in, light a fire, and work on the boat.

Kind of makes me giggle that people down in the southern US are moaning about winter, though.
