Finally got a hold of the owner. He went ahead and dropped the "sails" and the rudder off at the place I picked up the boat. Went by tonight and picked those up.

When I laid the "sails" out all there was the jib, but it is in great shape. Still don't know where the boom and the mainsail is, but this is progress. I'm hoping he has them laid up somewhere safe and dry. I'll just have to check back with him and jog his memory a little.

Talked to him about registration. He had never registered it and neither had the prevous owner. He said he would sign a bill of sale if needed. I will check with the boat regeistration folks and see what is up with that.

Did you drill a hole in the bottom or are you having to pump it out?

No drilling. I pumped her out for now. I haven't done much (or any) work because of my schedule and the weather.

Paul their was quite a bit of water, pine needles and squiral crap in the boat. And even more after I took the boat to the car wash and washed it real good.

My next step, and one if been planning for a few months now, is to get the boat off of the trailer and lower the swing keel and check it out real good, esp. the pivot bolt.

Now that I have the rudder that is one thing less I have to make. I hope I can get the mainsail, for that is a big expense. The boom I'm less worried about. I can whip one of those out in a weekend.

Once I determine that the swing keel is good, I than plan to start painting and doing some interior work. We've talked about using some type of insulation on the interior and than stripping it out in wood.

BTW it really is a deteached shed with a garage door. I've been thinking about taking the garage door off and building a barn type door.

Well I meet with the guy just right after typing the last and I now have both the main and the jib, but no boom. The main doesn't seem to be as heavy as the jib, but next chance I get I will lay them both out and check 'em over real good.
