Discovery

I was looking out of my window Sunday afternoon, and the newly constructed Jamestown replica of the Discovery pulled into Jackson Creek, in the little village of Deltaville, Va. I contacted the captain by vhf and directed them to the town dock. A friend and I then helped them tie up and offered them the use of a car or if we could be of any other assistance. They had come through a snowy northwestery and were glad to go below and rest. The follks at Boothbay Harbor shipyard did an excellent job with the construction. After seeing the Godspeed and now the Discovery, wish I could afford to go to Maine and have my own little dream schooner built. Oh well!! Yet, it is wonderful to see new wooden vessels.
