At last my daughters little Glen-L Utility Skiff is in the water. More photos available on my website. Thinking strongly about a wheel so the skipper can sit forward on the middle seat without having to use a tiller extension. Ideas welcome on the process of retro-fitting steering with the deck on. Motor is a 1987 9.9 Evinrude.

Oh wow, what a cool little boat. "When is it gonna be our turn, dad?" Nice job. Looks like a blast to run and looks like it hauls pretty good with that little outboard.

Cool Steve... nice boat.
Could you fit a dashboard all the way across the deck line and fit a wheel? Maybe use an old fashioned side mount wheel?

Peter, there is a dashboard already per the plans at the deck line. Here is a shot. Its 5-1/2" below the deck at the wide part in the middle. Should be enough to mount a wheel I hope. Now to research how to change the motor from tiller to remote control. Any hints?

Steve, you oughta' advertise for Glen-L.
When I looked at the plans, photos, etc. I kina' got the feeling it wasn't such a good project, but you've made it look neat !
It's a lot prettier than I imagined it to be and the cream colored interior makes that beautiful wood really stand out. Maybe, I'll have to re-think it.
Great work on the boat !

Thanks you guys. It really is a pretty boat with the curved sides and hogged sheer. Marine mobile? Had not thought of that but maybe a big old radio in that dash would look good! :)

I see on your web site that you have built 3 boats. What are you going to build next?
