One of Sarah's former owners is there. I last talked to him a couple of years ago about getting a copy of his log books and any pictures he might have.
He was very nice, but he is in his 80's, and I felt like I was really imposing asking him to dig the stuff out, copy it, and mail it to me. (It is probably voluminous as he traveled extensively - several Caribbean trips, through the Panama Canal - to Hawaii and back). He is also a published author and a former New York Times correspondent, so certainly some fine stuff there.
I once thought I might make it up there in person, but too much time is going by and it would be a tremendous loss if I miss the opportunity to get a copy of his logbooks.
If anyone is interested, please PM me. We'll work out the details and then I'll feel good about calling the gentleman back and suggesting that I have a friend in the area that could take care of duplicating the materials and shipping them to me.
Thank you in advance.
