I just launched my Elver that I have been building for the past two years.

Here she is ready to go in the water.

The launching ceremony

She's wet.

She's floating.

Thanks to all those on the forum who helped out with various questions about boat building such as where to mount the stern light and what type of fairleads to use.

Will.

Ok, where did you mount the stern light?

Great job! We want pictures of her sailing. Pictures of her builder/skipper at the tiller grinning from ear to ear would be good!

You know, that just might be the perfect boat for LandLocked Folks seeking a bit of cabin and yet simple enough to grab a quick sail anytime the mood strikes.

As far as sternlignts go I'm going to use the clip-on variety for now.
She's named "No Strings Attached" - paid for, I can fix everything on her, and I can trailer her anywhere there's a launch ramp.
I can't wait to put her on the lake for a sail. More pictures to follow.
Thanks very much for the nice complements.

Will.

I have greatly enjoyed watching you build her on your website
( http://home.att.net/~willmarsh3/el/elver.html ).

One of the best home boat building sites I have seen!

Thanks and happy sailing,
Doug

Will,

I have been reading your web site for a while now and in fact plan to take some ideas from it (e.g. the foreward followed by calendar with links to particular days) for my own. Great job. I've looked at Elver for a while now but she is too big a job for me in my current life!

Heads up: There is an Elver listed in the classified ads in WoodenBoat Magazine #184 at what appears to be a very fair price.
