so i came across a renovation/demolition of an old antebelum early 1900,s, this old house project. Long Leaf Pine.... the second floor veranda was all 2 x 6 support beam pianted green. why are all old porches green, anyway the contruction boss said get it out of here. It's the honey-brown, tight grained, hard as oak, cut into it and smells like turpinetine aroma of the good stuff. God is good, thank you Jesus, and merry xmas to me. |'m seeing enough boat-building wood to make the deadwood keel, rudder, and all the interior joinery needed for my grey seal project.:) :) :) |,ll tell you the adventure of getting it home with a pic tomorrow.

Well my daughter took my digital camera too New Orlean's, X-mas party, and on the camera was pics of the old home and the wood, so later, but the saga of getting this wood home was the real challenge. I got greedy. I loaded down my little Ford ranger to where it looked like a latino "low rider". Not safe nor secure. But its long leaf pine and I wanted all I could get. Well of course the worst situation will always arise. My 2 x 6 boards all over a major 4 way stop that backs up to the major expressway. But no tickets and no chest pain so all is still good.:o
