despite misgivings from several about the tranny. It is a 95 Ford Taurus and runs great. The tranny shifts good and as soon as I can I will get it flushed.

The way I figure for what I had to spend I was just going to have to take my chances.

Thanks. I hope it works out also, I've had some awful luck that last couple of years with cars. Maybe I'm turning a corner.

Hope it goes well, Chad. I only put 3 trannys in my '95 :D . Last time it caught fire!

My 95 eventually was destroyed by a women who couldn't see white! :)

Good luck, Chad. I just bought a car too, and it's a crap shoot. I bought into the market somewhere between a throwaway and almost new, in the hope I don't have to frick with it for awhile.

I've had good luck going this way. My Mazda pickup had almost a 100 K on it when I bought it, and I drove it twelve years with minimal problems. May this Toyota and your Taurus do as well.

My mom's on her second Taurus. She bought this one new in '98 and it's already got 23,000 miles on it...........I hope it holds up.:D

I drive a 91 Taurus with the V-6 3.0.
My parents both have a Taurus ( a 99 and a 2002).
Parts are cheap and the junkyards are full of them.
The 91 I'm driving has been in the family since new and has the original tranny at almost 90,000 miles. Of course I've had to fix a bunch of other things that wore out over the years. I guess that comes with maintaining any car.
I have to say that since I got the car(2 years and 20,000 miles ago) very few things have needed attention and it's been a great car, considering the age.
You could have done worse and I think you'll enjoy the car Chad.
