Went out yesterday and found my batteries AND controller in 3 inches of water .The plastic box I use to "protect" them , didnt. The controller dried out doesnt work anymore (big surprise).Minn Kota 30 pound 12 volt.Anyone have a suggestion on how to go about either replacing or making up a replacement controller that wont over heat considering my limited ability with tech stuff? I didnt really like the footpedal style controller anyway.

ok, since the problem wasnt a mainstream type problem anyone could help with I tackled it myself. And wonder of wonders,, I got it fixed!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,, I think.
The problem turned out to be the main power switch (tiny little bugger) on the circuit board. My cure was to cut that lil bad switch out of the system and solder in a new 12 volt switch from Radio Shack. Now I wont have to foot control it while out on the water. It will ride beside me like a normal control panel/box with the "throttle" and new main power switch in the normal "boaty" position. So this problem turned out to be a situation that forced me to do what I had been wanting to do for 3 years.Fix it like I wanted it.
A happy ending and all because of a tiny little bugger.
