Last year a debate raged about weather if you split firewood it then took up more room and thus a firewood seller coul say sell cords of split wood where if left in the round would only = 5cords

so I will more properly rephrase the question
was a scientic exparament conducted, and what was the result?

like the track hoe opperater said to "put it on the second grade stake" so I put the pole on the stake

what he had wanted me to do was adjust the lazer target so it was set to designate the grade listed on the guard stake next to the grade stake (bench mark stake)

Split wood can be stacked in a more dense pile. In my firewood selling days we always gave the customer a solid cord , sometimes tossed in a few cedar rounds for kindling.

We cut dry fire killed larch. One was 4' diam , we got seven cords from that one tree.

Well I split a pile of round wood this fall and after I split and re stacked it the pile was noticeable smaller...what does that tell you ?
