Can you recommend any good books for the new boatbuilder? My first planned project is going to be a cedar on frame small sloop with ballast. I have 30 years as an amateur woodworker, have built scads of furniture etc. but never a boat using this method. have built a small plywood boat. Spent a lot of my career at sea, as well, so much of the terminology of wood and boats is familiar to me.

I plan to pick up the Douglas Pyle book when I am in the US in a few weeks, and would like to put together a list of other books that would be of help while my workshop/garage is being built.
Thanks

If your boat is to be carvel plank on frame, start with the books of Howard Chappelle, Greg Roessell and Bud McIntosh. For other construction methods, it'a whole 'nother list.
