Question for you folks....double checking myself on this...

Let's say you were going to buy some planking stock. Just for arguments sake, let's say it's Atlantic White Cedar. The plan is to use this wood as, well, planking, for an as yet unknown future project. What's the most versatile cut to get from the sawmill?

I'm thinking rift sawn, full length, greatest width, 5/4 thickness. I figure that will allow for resawing a minimum of 2 bookmatched planks per board (assuming "smaller" type projects), if desired.

Anyone see anything major wrong with that approach?
