Question for any twidgets or sparky's out there: I have a Prosine 2.0 inverter/charger that worked for about a week and now it won't recognize when good A/C power is coming in from the shore power. It'll still invert DC to AC, but when AC is plugged in, it doesn't "see" it and therefore won't pass that AC through to my AC loads, nor will it allow the charger to operate because it doens't think there's AC coming in. Using a multimeter, I tested the incoming AC right at the connections at the inverter and it is good AC (within the tolerances set on the inverter panel).
Xantrex hasn't been too helpful, saying that I have to send it in for repairs. Unfortunately for me this thing was purchased 2 1/2 years ago and finally taken out of the box and installed a month ago (i.e. NO WARRANTY).
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
CJ

Polarity issue?

no polarity problem with a.c. :D

Is there a relay not changing state when the shore 110 is present?

no polarity problem with a.c. :D

Ohh??
then why are there polarity indicators and means to make it correct?

There is no AC input fuse. Not even internally.
There is a relay that may not be working properly, but it's soldered to the circuit board, so I cannot pull it to check it.
No polarity issues. Again, it worked for about a week, then quit.

The heart interface ones have breaker fir this problem. I'm surprised you don't,

Are you certain the shore power is coming O.K.?

Do you have the wiring diagram?
Can you determine which terminals soldered to the board should change state? Sometimes a litle tap on the relay will get it going, sometimes it breaks it.
Can you take the intire thingie to a repair shop, maybe they have a relay to replace this one.

Lotsa maybe's

Good luck

"May I please speak to someone in technical support."

Get a schematic/service manual and then have at it. Previous advice on relay and/or find pin that should change state sounds good.

Take the make, model and serial number off the unit and either post it or send it to me by privat e-mail.....I may have the manual and schematics...

It has a stuck or fried transfer switch. The switch allows the shorepower AC to pass through and share power between the charger and the AC house circuts, which is what yours isn't doing.

I'd send it back for service.

Reading for the repliers

Here's the manual

Some devices use an actua relay to switch to a.c. operation, others use an electronic relay (triac) to accomplish the same thing...the circuits are entirely different.....need the make and model number and serial to research the proper circuitry..
