Joe has not showed up for two days in the Dawkins thread. It's not like Joe to miss a bunch of chances to mix it up with Sam F.
Must be something pretty important to keep him away.
Or he could be lurking and plotting his next mischief.

Well I appreciate the concern but I'm OK. A few things contribute to me posting a bit less as of late.

#1 Sometimes I think we all get a little burnt out from this place, and a little break is good for the batteries and to keep bitterness to a minimum.

#2 I've been offered a unique opportunity to become a partner in a local restaurant. http://www.themeetinghouseatcoldspring.com/ So I have been focusing on this new venture in addition to my real estate business.

It's an exciting venture and one that I think dovetails nicely into my local real estate connections. I have become a real estate restauranteur. :D Wish me luck, and if you ever find yourself hungry or thirsty in Cold Spring please feel free to stop in ;)

#3 I will still check in here but it may be far less frequent than in the past.

Anyway thanks for your concern MMike, but I'm OK. And I will still check in you all from time to time.

Joe.. just because.. The Resturant business is one of the hardest ones to be in... Look at the stats....look at the numbers of those that start up, and fold..carefully.. and talking about crimping your boating time....
As an example.. the Resturant business in Cooperstown probably turns over once every year... New owners etc.. new names, new menues..
I thought about this once when I lived in Cooperstown and after watching for a few years, the changing of the guard at 90% of the Resturants, I decided not to touch it with a 20 yard pole...

This is a viable business I looked at all the numbers and was a big fan of the place ( I had a tab ;) ) Before I invested in it. Most importantly it currently has been profitable for over two years and that is based on the sales tax that it has paid ( one way to make sure a cash business is doing well is to check what they have to report that they make. ) If well run and managed they can be VERY profitable. I do not expect to make more than my real estate business which has far less overhead, but I will be able to draw a weekly amount from the existing profits. Additionally I needed an investment, especially of my time because I spend too much time on here ;)

May I suggest Christine Woods Pinot noir? It's spectacular. You'll be the only restaurant east of the rockies selling it, and 1 of only 3-4 in the world.

Yoou have to order it directly from the vineyard. You'll probably talk to Vernon Rose, the owner. Be gentle, he's about 94 years old. (Not kidding)
Oh.... And about the Nicholson comparison..... IN YOUR DREAMS ! :D
