I plan to strip the hull on my wooden cruiser soon and wanted input on what steps and products for each step to use. Any thoughts on using a flexible epoxy sealer like "Smiths CPES". All the boat yards recommend "Awl Grip" paint around here but I have heard that you should not use a poly-urithane paint on wood. What about using epoxy barrier coat primer?
If you haven't done so yet, go here (http://www.woodenboat-ubb.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=008298;p=1), scroll down to "P" for paint, and start reading. There is a wealth of information there.

They recomend awl grip because when the stuf lifts between the planks, it traps rainwater, causes rot, and thus, causes more income for them in the way of repairs!!!!!
